Made in Tuscany and certified organic, Pasta Panarese Spaghetti all Chitarra pasta is made from estate grown durum semolina wheat that gives this gourmet pasta authentic traditional Italian taste and texture. Spaghetti alla Chitarra (guitar spaghetti) originates in central and southern Italy and gets its name from the way it was originally made using a wooden frame strung with closely spaced wires. The dough was rolled onto the wires resulting in square cut pasta. Today it is bronze-drawn and slow-dried at low temperature not only to create the perfect taste but to create a rough surface that clings to sauces so that the flavors of the pasta and sauces are perfectly balanced in each bite. This is a hearty spaghetti so it can be paired with a substantial sauce. It is dried in nests for easy portioning. Two or three nests make a dinner serving. 500 grams (1.1 pounds)
