2020 harvet! Basilippo Seleccion extra virgin olive oil is from Arbequina olives from their countryside groves in Los Alcores, Seville. The olives are harvested at their optimum maturity referred to as veraison, when they are just getting the first blush of purple as they mature from green fruit. It takes 8-9 kg (almost 20 pounds) of olives to obtain 1 liter of Basilippo Seleccion which is about half of the yield compared to common Spanish producers. This oil is considered delicate and fruity with the aromas of green and very fresh mature banana, olive and tomato and a hint of almond. The taste is sweet, smooth and elegant without bitterness and very slight pungency. A nutty sweetness lingers on the finish. 500 ml
