An Olive Ovation News

January, 2015: Marianne is interviewed by Feast Magazine about St. Louis based sculptor Mary Judge and her very popular dipping dishes here. The dipping dish is photo number four in the gallery.

November, 2014: Our "fruity and off-dry crisp whites" were just reviewed by Gail Appelson of the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Read about these versatile white wines (Montinore Estate 2013 Borealis from Oregon’s Willamette Valley and L’Ecole N° 41 2013 Chenin Blanc Old Vines from Washington’s Columbia Valley) here. Gail's brief, concise article talks about wines for the fall / winter holidays in general and reviews two of our fine examples in detail.

October, 2014: We are so excited to be featured (on page one, no less!) in this month's issue of Gourmet News. Author Lucas Witman discovered us on line and was intrigued by the story of St. Louis' first Olive Oil store, well predating the explosion of single distributor and franchise operations across the country. We are very happy with the excellent job Lucas did describing our store and the motivations behind our opening seven years ago. You can read more here.

June 29, 2014: Sauce Magazine announced their Reader's Choice winners at their Saucy Soiree party at Union Station. We are thrilled to announce that Extra Virgin an Olive Ovation placed second in the Specialty Food category. (For the third year in a row Global Foods placed first.) Thank you to all of our wonderful customers for our excellent showing against such large competition!

July 1, 2013: An Olive Ovation moved to 8829 Ladue Road, Ladue, MO 63124. We have a greater selection of gourmet product in this larger store. Just off I-170 on Ladue Road we are easy to get to and have excellent neighbors here at the Colonial Marketplace. Please visit our expanded location! Click here for directions.

I like Extra Virgin An Olive Ovation for imported mustards, vinegars and olive oils. Incorporating these ingredients into a dish can change it significantly. For instance, a Zinfandel vinegar over a dessert is divine, and mustard in a soup is quite amazing.
